In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we are only too happy to turn to processed foods. But these are responsible for spreading diabetes and many other chronic diseases. So processed foods can make us addicted. But with a healthy diet, you can prevent or even reverse chronic ailments.

Eating is one of the most intimate processes in human life and one of the most influential. You are what you eat!

Research suggests that certain plant-based foods, such as fruits, vegetables, spices, and beverages, affect our health. We can use it to make tasty, even delicious, meals that are both filling and healing.

Of course, we all know that fruits and vegetables are healthy. However, we are only beginning to learn how healthy they are. They contain a lot of fiber, few calories, and no or hardly any harmful fats. But that’s not all. There are usually hundreds, if not thousands, of medicinal compounds left, each with a specific effect on your health and well-being. As a result, you can treat particular ailments by adding various plant-based foods to your diet.

It is not new that food is also medicine. When you consider that people used to get their medicine directly from nature. Evidence that people used foods for healing purposes goes back many thousands of years. An excellent example of this is the traditional Indian healing art of Ayurveda. Many Ayurvedic ideas come from Indian healing arts and include numerous treatment methods, such as herbal, massage, and meditation therapies.

Nutrition is of great importance in Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Ayurveda is Traditional Indian Medicine or Traditional Ayurvedic Medicine (TAM). The fact that nutrition is of great importance in Ayurveda is something it has in common with another ancient treatment method, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It bases on the concepts of yin and yang, which in ancient Chinese philosophy embody the two fundamental forces of the universe – the aggressive, hot, active force – yang, and the passive energy of leaning back and relaxing – yin. When these forces in your body are not in balance, you become ill/

Both the Chinese and Indian approaches assume that some foods trigger a specific reaction in the body. After all, in our evolution, we have evolved with and used the plants around us. We developed an exceptional relationship with some of them, just as we do with some members of the animal kingdom. Most synthetically manufactured drugs have only been used for a few decades, not thousands of years. So the human body can just not use it to the same degree.

Put healing foods on the menu.

In addition, most plants contain thousands of bioactive compounds, each playing a unique role in the body. In contrast, modern medicine always looks for a Wonder weapon, the so-called medicinal substance. All other beneficial Plant connections are discarded and forgotten.

Getting people to put healing foods on the menu can be a big challenge. The inferior processed foods that you usually get in the supermarkets make this task no easier.

It can also be confusing to see all the conflicting messages about nutrition. In today’s world, it feels as though getting healthy has become expensive, confusing, and extreme. One-day raw cacao is a superfood; the next, you must avoid it as if your life depends on it.

It is crucial that we educate ourselves and become knowledgeable about nutrition, where our food comes from, and how to keep ourselves and our families healthy.
