Why Using Coconut Oil In Your Kitchen Is Good For Your Health

7 Reasons Why You Should Be Using Coconut Oil

A common misconception is that using coconut oil is bad for you. But worldwide, People experience the health benefit of the oil. It actually is one of the healthiest oils for consumption. There are seven reasons you better use this amazing oil instead of other cooking oils.

1. It does not make you fat.

Like soy (vegetable) and corn, many other cooking oils make you fat. Coconut oil contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCT); the body burns it without turning it to fat.

The long-chain triglycerides (LCT) in other common oils the body usually stores as fat. Coconut oil is more easily absorbed and converted to energy quicker since it is an MCT.

People in the tropics relied for centuries on coconuts as a traditional staple in their diet. Also, they consume large amounts of oil daily. It helps them stay lean and healthy, not get fat. Switching from coconut oil to our modern oils, they develop obesity and face the same health problems as our modern society.

2. It increases your metabolism.

Coconut oil converts quicker into energy in your body, also promoting weight loss because it increases your metabolism. Boosting your metabolism helps your body burn fat more effectively and even triple your calorie burn. Coconut oil is an MCT that converts so quickly into energy that it creates a lot of heat. The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition published a study that it burns three times more calories for six hours after a meal than LCT.

The February 15, 2005 issue of Woman’s World magazine stated that coconut oil is the “underground high-metabolism secret.”

Excellent news for people with thyroid problems since coconut oil improves sluggish thyroids by stimulating the production of extra thyroid hormones. Like vegetables (soy) and corn, most other common oils have inhibited thyroid function.

3. The oil contains omega 3 fatty acids.

Most cooking oils contain omega 6 fatty acids. In the United States, for example, people get way too much of it. The omega 6 to omega 3 ratio should be 1:1, but it is more like 50:1. We need to consume much more omega 3 oils to be healthy and drastically cut back our omega 6 oils. Coconut oil is full of healthy omega 3 fatty acids.

4. It gives you energy.

A switch to coconut oil makes most people feel a burst of added energy in their daily life because healthy omega 3 fatty acids increase the metabolism.

It is nature’s richest source of medium-chain triglycerides (MCT’s), increasing metabolic rates and leading to weight loss. MCT’s promote thermogenesis, which increases the body’s metabolism, producing energy.

Many people with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia have found that adding coconut and the oil to their diet was helpful to them.

5. Good for Hair and Skin

Coconut oil is one of the best things you can apply directly to your Skin and Hair. It gives temporary relief to skin problems like rashes. Also, it restores and heals your skin to a younger appearance. It has also helped people who suffer from yeast skin infections and other skin problems.

Not only does it soften and smooth your skin, but the oil also has antioxidant properties that protect the skin from free radical damage. It makes an excellent massage oil too.

6. It does not get quickly rancid

Coconut oil has healthy benefits that most other oils do not. There is evidence that it has anti-fungal, antibacterial, and antiviral effects when consumed and used topically on the skin.

The oil is not easily oxidized and does not cause harmful free radical damage like polyunsaturated vegetable oils. Free radical damage is responsible for many ailments, from arthritis to increased cancer susceptibility.

Coconut oil also helps our bodies absorb other nutrients more effectively, such as Vitamin E.

7.It is one of the best cooking oils.

It has a higher smoke point than olive oil, which means it can take higher temperatures better. We can choose to consume several healthy omega 3 fats, such as flax and olive oil, but they don’t do well if we cook under high heat. You can use Coconut oil at higher cooking temperatures.

Coconut oil does not go rancid, unlike other cooking oils. Many are rancid even before you even bring them home. They cause free radical damage in the body, which is a leading cause of cancer. The oil has been stable for over a year at room temperature.

The people of the tropics for centuries experience the benefits of the oil. We have missed out on the healthy benefits of the oil for years because of misinformation. But now it has been rediscovered! And it is so effective that it will not take long, and we may see it promoted as a supplement. But you can start consuming and cooking with coconut oil today!
